Quick overnight trip before playing cricket locally the following day. Comfortable little single room with excellent bathroom. Splendid evening meal and breakfast, attentive, considerate staff and a pleasant garden to linger in after hours on a lovely summer night. Would certainly book in again if in the area.
All pretty reasonably priced too. We had the misfortune of eating here on The fish other customers were eating looked so much better, however i would not go back again. I can't really comment about service as it was order at the bar but essex on the outside tables and a quick clean between customers might be an idea.
Peldon pub with great atmosphere at the front and a modern b&b restaurant at the back. You can eat in either, or outside by the old duck pond which does need b&b tidying up. Staff were extrememly helpful and the food as suberb. Great choice of soft drinks, wine essex beers. Pfldon had a super evening here and would recommend it to friends, but probably not to families with very small chldren.
Anyone who may have b&b my other reviews will know that we rarely visit b&b same restaurant more than once during a weeks' holiday. This is occasionally stretched to two and only The Seagull in West Bay has earned our essex visit accolade!
We did tell our waiter that a return on Friday would depend upon our experience at Essex Oyster Bar see separate review. We found all of The Peldon Rose staff to pelson polite and attentive and we received prompt but not rushed service. We had a fair bit of essex with the Aston Villa Supporter waiter yes, you know who you are peldon was particularly friendly and attentive, without being obsequious.
It is interesting to read the range of reviews for The Peldon Rose you can't pdldon all of the people! Speaking for ourselves we could find nothing to fault and returned for our final evening on the Friday to sample more of the excellent choice of fish on the menu! Tired looking menu, indifferent service and very average food. The place is seeming living off of its previous reputation and could do with peldon new ideas b&b a shake pelfon on its menu and service.
We enjoyed a 4 nights' stay. The room was very comfortable and had tea and coffee making facility, bottled water was provided each day. It was very quiet during the night and morning making for a good night's esdex.
I like a bath but there is only a shower in room 3. We enjoyed dinner on 2 nights of our stay. There is a relatively small menu but excellently cooked and presented. All staff were helpful and friendly. Many thanks for taking the time peldon review Sylvia. I am glad to essex you enjoyed your 4 nights with us. Denise Sims wrote a review Oct Beautiful place with exceptional hosts. We had the pleasure of a fairly long stay in the Annexe. The accommodation was perfect for us, very comfortable beds and lovely linen! My children were sad to leave as was I. Andrew and Nicky are fantastic and made our stay much more than we expected.

Incredible hosts. The accommodation was fantastic: clean, functional, self contained and surrounded by such a beautiful garden. Lovely kitchenette to be able to self sufficient if needed and brilliant little swings and slide for our little boy to enjoy. These things in themselves would have made the weekend 5 star. However, what really makes Ransomes a special place is Nicky, Andrew and Merlin the dog!
They were so welcoming, accommodating, insightful and incredibly engaging. Our son was enamored by Nicky, she entertained him both mornings whilst we chatted over breakfast and took him into her incredible garden to help with the watering whilst we packed.
They lent us a hat for him when we forgot ours and we got to take home delicious figs they had grown. Our boy even collected eggs with Nicky from the quals! Thank you for a wonderful weekend and we would come back in a heartbeat. Date of stay: August Trip type: Traveled with family. SteveC wrote a review Aug A lovely stay. We called on the off chance that there was a vacancy, happily he was able to accomodate us, and enabled us to resurect our weekend.
How lucky we were, our stay in the Annex was perfect, comfortable and beautifully peaceful. Family commitments meant that we were unable to enjoy breakfast but remember it being fantastic!
There is a sofa bed in the lounge for extra sleeping accommodation if required. Our breakfast consists of all locally sourced produce prepared by Andrew on his Aga; please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements before your visit. Our Full English breakfast includes field mushrooms, local pork sausages, tomatoes, Aga-fried bread and eggs; vegetarian option is available if requested. Cereals, toast with local Tiptree jam, fresh fruit, tea and coffee are also on the table.
